St. Louis Zoo Sea Lion Amphitheatre

The sea lion sound audience cover is a 4,000 square foot four season cover for the theatre seating at the Sea Lion Sound exhibit at the St. Louis Zoo. The structure is a four masted cone structure on a radial plan. A unique challenge of this project was to determine a geometry that would direct all of the rainwater to the rear, at the same time managing the potential for ponding on the flat front edge.
