A-Frame

The Scarborough Civic Centre Library features glulam wood frame construction and a complex building form with three layers of framing – primary, secondary and tertiary – all stacked to allow double cantilevers and maximize the number of bearing type connections. Cut ends are deliberately left overhanging to further randomize the irregular geometry offset with clerestory windows to allow light penetration to the interior of the building.
