Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics

The Perimeter Institute is a private research centre for theoretical physics. The building is constructed with reinforced concrete one-way slabs on reinforced concrete beams, columns and walls; structural steel beams supporting the roof over the atrium; channel-shaped, trussed steel bridges linking two wings; foundations consisting of steel piles with a structurally framed ground-floor slab. This project has won numerous awards in the field of architecture.
