The Peel Heritage Complex renovation, now the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA), transformed Brampton’s historic courthouse, jail, and registry office into a unified cultural facility. Completed in 2012, the $16 million project included a complex 82 m concrete tunnel linking the buildings, expanded gallery and museum spaces, and state-of-the-art archival storage. The project preserved key heritage elements while modernizing the site to house over 12,000 artifacts, extensive archives, and a significant art collection, making PAMA a central hub for art, history, and community in Peel Region.
