  • Completed

    2011

  • Location

    Waterloo

  • Area

    24,000 square feet

  • Architect

    Baird Sampson Neuert Architects

  • Program

Home to an active and thriving congregation, the new Knox Presbyterian Church in uptown Waterloo replaces the previous sanctuary that was in need of work. The sanctuary, atrium and multi-purpose room use conventional wood-framed shear walls to support the inverted bowstring roof trusses. The two-storey wings were constructed with conventional platform framing techniques. A concrete topping was employed to mitigate sound transmission in the relatively light framed structure, and to provide mass for in-floor radiant heating. For more details, see attached data sheet.
