Completed for Artscape, a not-for-profit organization that develops and operates space for the arts, the Wychwood Barns is an adaptive reuse of the historic TTC streetcar repair barns to accommodate a creative new community centre, office space for local groups, and housing and studios for artists. The original barn was built in 1913 to 1921 as industrial building of masonry on a steel frame. After the industrial elements of the barns were stripped, the original structure was molded to suit the new program.
